Top 51 Titles of 2015
Using the information reported to ASCAP and BMI through the ACB Blanket Performance License for 2015, Sarah McElfresh looked to create the "Top 50 Titles" performed during that year. Like most good plans, it turned out that the "Top 51 Titles" worked out better as each had been performed at least 51 times - and there were some ties. This information was presented in the October 2016 issue of the Journal as a word cloud on the cover and details appeared on page 24.
The list below will shows the list of titles in order based on number of times it was performed with ties being represented. Alongside the title is the most often performed arrangement of that title. Some selections only have one arrangement, but most have multiple arrangements that are played – the most popular arrangement varies from year to year in some cases. This is all based on what our members with the license program in a given year. This may be viewed as a "things to include in your band library" although there are some titles that appear as it was the year of a movie release which bumps the frequency of plays up. Overall, this list includes much of the music people expect to hear from their local community band.
