ACB Convention

The Association of Concert Bands holds a convention each year, held in a different location each year and hosted by a member band.

WHAT IS IT?
The convention is a 4-day conference for band directors, members and managers, as well as music history leaders, administrators, and board members, meet to exchange personal views and share experiences. The week includes educational seminars and clinics and performances by selected community bands. Attendees may participate in the Convention Band led by well-known conductors. The conference offers opportunity for networking among professional and fellow community band musicians.

WHAT IS THE ACB CONVENTION BAND?

The Convention Band is made up of attendees coming from all over the country to form a band. This band rehearses daily during the convention with a guest conductor and performs on the last day of the convention. Rehearsals are generally 3 hours each day.  To perform with the convention band you must be a member of ACB or be using one of a member band four (4) spots. If you wish to participate in the Convention Band, fill out that section of your registration form providing instrument(s) and part preferences.

WHEN IS IT?
